Guide to brew a perfect Moka Pot Coffee.

Who says you can’t make café-like coffee at home? All you need is a Moka Pot espresso maker to make your morning dose of caffeine. It is an amazing way to make a rich and hearty brew over a stove top. The brew from a Moka Pot is not as strong as an espresso but it is strong enough to open your sleepy eyes to enjoy the morning breeze by the window. This compact and affordable coffee making equipment is for sure a bang for your buck. 

How to use a Moka Pot, you may ask? Here’s a step by step guide on how to make Moka Pot coffee.

Things needed to brew Moka Pot Coffee:

  • A Moka Pot 

  • Approx. 2 tbsp. Moka Pot grind coffee preferably from 100% Arabica coffee beans

  • Water according to your Moka Pot ratio

  • A spoon

  • Sugar and milk to taste

  • Cups to serve 

Step 1: Prepare your Moka Pot. Add water in the lower chamber until it has reached the valve level.

Step 2: Take the filter basket and fill it with approximately 2 tablespoons of Moka Pot grind coffee. Make sure it is full! Place the filled filter basket into the lower chamber. Don’t forget to level the coffee grinds with a spoon!

Step 3: Screw the Moka Pot’s spouted top onto the lower chamber. Don’t do it too tightly. Put the Moka Pot on the stovetop and turn on the stove.

Pro tip: Turn on the stove on medium heat. The flames from the stove should not be larger than the base of the Moka Pot.

Step 4: Once the water starts to boil, it will make a noise, that your hint that the delicious aromatic coffee has started to collect in the upper chamber. Once the coffee is collected, turn off the heat and remove the Moka Pot from the stove.

Step 5: Pour the deliciousness into the cups. The result is a robust and strong brew. Depending on your coffee preference you can enjoy the brew with steamed and frothy milk or add more hot water to make it less intense like an Americano.
